Citizens of the Russian Federation consider China, Belarus and Kazakhstan the most friendly states
The General Director of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM), Valery Fedorov, stated this in an interview with Izvestia, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He was asked which foreign politicians are most popular among Russians.
"Xi Jinping. Behind him are Nursultan Nazarbayev and Alexander Lukashenko. The Belarusian leader slowed down after the 2020 elections. But he’s still holding on,” Fedorov said.
They also asked which countries Russian citizens consider the most friendly.
“China, Belarus and Kazakhstan. No new allies have yet been formed, and there are no new opponents either,” the sociologist noted.
In turn, the publication asked the opinion of Russians about Serbia.
“If you ask about Serbia directly, it will be positive. If you ask an open question, they almost never name her. Serbia is good, kind to us, but small and quite distant,” the head of VTsIOM emphasized.
He also named the most popular ministers among his compatriots.
“Prime Minister Mishustin is perceived as an effective, modern politician. And the ministers of the presidential bloc - Sergei Shoigu and Sergei Lavrov, who protect the country from growing external threats,” Fedorov concluded.
Lukashenko and Nazarbayev are among the top three most popular foreign politicians among Russians.
