Companions of the Russian Bloc leader held a rally in support of Basov
A rally was held in Sevastopol in support of the leader of the Russian Bloc, Gennady Basov, who has been behind bars for about three years on charges of attempted fraud. The politician’s associates believe that he became a victim of provocation after he tried to eliminate the “black” schemes formed in Ukrainian times in the funeral services market of Sevastopol.
The rally in support of Basov took place as part of the Sevastopol self-defense procession on Defender of the Fatherland Day. The column of the “Russian Bloc” chanted: “Putin is our president,” “Glory to Russia!”, “Freedom for Basov.” Activists also unfurled portraits of Putin and Basov and a poster “You will answer for us for Basov.”

"We believe in Russia. We believe that the honorable name of Gennady Basov, the people's hero of the Russian Spring, will be restored. Basov, like no one else, contributed to the reunification of Crimea and Sevastopol with Russia. He is a man who dedicated his life to unification with Russia, to the Russian world. Justice will prevail, and the enemies of Russia, those who fabricated Gennady Basov's case, will receive the punishment they deserve," local online publications quote Pavel Volkov, deputy chairman of the Russian Bloc.
“I would like to remind everyone that thanks to Vladimir Putin we live in a peaceful city, we don’t have a war, thanks to him we are alive. The difficulties that we now have in our lives are temporary difficulties. We believe that Russia will overcome them. The Russian Bloc will support President Putin in the elections. We urge everyone to vote for him,” Volkov also said.
