Snowboarding is not only an exciting sport, but also a lifestyle that unites...

Basic equipment elements

  1. Snowboard
    • Choosing: For beginners, it is recommended to choose a snowboard of medium length, which will be more stable and controllable. Pay attention to the width of the board - it should match your shoe size.
    • Types: There are different types of snowboards: all-mountain, freestyle, and freeride. All-mountain boards are suitable for riding on different slopes, while freestyle is better for tricks in the park, and freeride is better for deep snow.
  2. Snowboard boots
    • Choosing: Boots should be comfortable and hold your foot well. For beginners, soft boots are suitable, which provide more comfort and ease of control.
    • Fit: When choosing boots, be sure to try them on with the socks you will be wearing while skiing. Make sure the boots are not too loose or too tight.
  3. Mountings
    • Location: The bindings need to be properly mounted on the snowboard depending on your stance (leg forward). For beginners, a “parallel” stance is best.
    • Adjustment: Check that the bindings are securely fastened and easy to remove so that you can quickly free yourself from the board if necessary.

Snowboarding clothing

  1. Snowboarding jacket
    • Functions: The jacket should be waterproof, windproof and breathable to keep you dry and comfortable. Look for vents to regulate temperature.
    • Convenience: Choose a jacket with enough pockets to store small items like your phone, keys, and gear care products.
  2. Snowboard pants
    • Material: Trousers should be made of waterproof and breathable material. There are also models with insulation for cold days.
    • Comfort: Make sure the pants are loose enough to not restrict movement and have extra protection on the knees.
  3. Thermal Underwear
    • Layers: Use a multi-layer clothing system. Thermal underwear is the first layer that wicks moisture away from the body. Choose models with good thermal insulation.
    • Material: Pay attention to the composition: synthetic materials wick away moisture better, while wool provides warmth.
  4. Gloves and hat
    • DEF: Gloves should be waterproof and windproof, with good thermal insulation. Choose models with long cuffs to protect against snow.
    • Header: The hat should fit snugly on the head, providing warmth and comfort. Some people prefer to use a helmet for extra protection.

Optional Accessories

DEF

  • Protective gear: Don't forget about protection! Knee pads, elbow pads and protective shorts will help to avoid injuries from falls, especially at the beginning of training.
  • Helmet: A helmet is a must-have safety item that will protect your head from injury. Make sure it fits properly and meets safety standards.

Snowboarding Goggles

  • Choosing: Glasses should provide good visibility and protection from ultraviolet rays. Pay attention to anti-fog properties and ventilation.
  • Tips: When purchasing goggles, choose ones that go well with your helmet and jacket.

Balaclava

A snowboard balaclava is an essential piece of equipment, especially on cold winter days. It protects your face and neck from the cold, wind, and snow, making your ride more comfortable and safe.

  1. Balaclava functions
    • Thermal insulation: protects the head, neck and face, preventing hypothermia. This is especially important when riding in strong winds or frosts.
    • Weather protection: It protects against snow, rain and wind, allowing you to focus on riding rather than covering your face from the elements.
    • Convenience: made from elastic materials that fit well to the skin, preventing snow and wind from getting under clothing.
  2. Choosing a balaclava
    • Material: Look for styles made from warm, breathable, and quick-drying fabrics. Synthetic materials like polyester or wool blends are great for keeping you warm and comfortable.

Style and fit: Balaclavas come in a variety of styles, so you have a lot of freedom of choice here.
