Simferopol, September 20 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – Residents of the peninsula who took out loans from Ukrainian banks before the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation come under heavy pressure from Russian collection firms.

The weekly magazine “First Crimean” writes about this.

Pressure on debtors who, in the confusion of spring events, were not able to repay the loan, often even small amounts, is carried out according to a well-established pattern: disturbing night calls begin, SMS messages are received, then unknown people call during the day and rudely demand to repay the debt. For example, a loan from the Ukrainian Alfa-Bank is proposed to be paid at RNKB.

Then “chain letters” arrive, for example from the Russian company Kreditekspress-Finance LLC, which reminds that, for example, for the balance of an unpaid Ukrainian loan, 1879 UAH, a Crimean debtor can be evicted from his home.

Meanwhile, the press service of RNKB informed 1K that the bank does not have any contractual or any other relations with the mentioned collection organization.

“The bank provides only a voluntary service of transferring the payer’s funds to the details specified by the Ukrainian bank,” the press service noted.

Meanwhile, writes 1K, hundreds of thousands of Crimeans, borrowers of Ukrainian banks, find themselves in an unpleasant situation.

“Only authorized persons can describe and seize property and only if there is a court order. Such actions are not carried out pre-trial; collection companies are not vested with the rights to seize, inventory and sell property. Therefore, when talking with debt collectors, you should be patient and perceive threats with some degree of criticism,” practicing lawyer Irina Chepinoga commented on the situation to the weekly.
