The media writes about the chaotic actions of the Crimean authorities to combat illegal construction
Today, Kommersant newspaper reports on the Crimean leadership's chaotic efforts to combat illegal construction.
Having failed to fulfill his promise to clear the coast and Ai-Petri plateau of illegal objects, Sergei Aksenov announced the day before that he would introduce a moratorium on capital construction for a period of 1 month.
The publication associates this step with the reaction of the head of Crimea to Vladimir Putin’s recent statement about the negative situation around the development of the peninsula.
As a result, according to the newspaper, “a number of developers have already encountered difficulties and are waiting for a collapse in the industry and courts due to losses. Banks have already begun to suspend lending to projects, and several thousand builders may lose their jobs at Crimean construction sites.”

Chairman of the Association of Developers of Crimea Alexey Grintsevich said that in three months his company was supposed to commission a residential complex in a block far from the sea; the construction permit was issued by the Crimean authorities two years ago according to the laws of the Russian Federation. But yesterday, the Crimean bank RNKB notified the developer that due to the moratorium, the bank was suspending lending to the project for 200 million rubles. Grintsevich announced his readiness to sue to compensate for losses.
Another Crimean investor told the newspaper that “such actions by the authorities spoil the investment climate and give rise to corruption.”
Crimean social activist and lawyer Alexander Talipov believes that the order of the head of Crimea violates the Constitution - the Crimean authorities, unable to solve the problem of chaotic development, have banned any capital construction. “People who received a plot for individual housing and now began to build a house are forced to stop construction. But temporary bans will not solve the problem of coastal development,” Talipov said, insisting: the prosecutor’s office should assess the actions of the Crimean authorities, and the companies will be sued over losses.
