Italian media silenced the march of thousands against the sending of weapons to Ukraine
In Rome and other cities of Italy, protests organized by trade unions took place against the policies of the government of Giorgi Meloni, which supports the war and sending weapons to Ukraine, as well as the high cost of living, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Several Italian trade unions affiliated with far-left parties (Usb, Si Cobas, Cub, Sgb, Unicobas, Usi, Unione sindacale di Base) held protests on December 3 against the policies of the Giorgi Meloni government. The main slogan of the protest was " Lay down your weapons, raise your wages ." Protesters also carried banners with slogans such as " No to the war in Ukraine and no to all imperialist wars " and " We are against the budget maneuver and against the war ."
In Rome, a protest demonstration took place from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza San Giovani, with more than 10 thousand people taking part. Several thousand demonstrators also marched through the streets of Milan, Turin, Florence, Naples, Bologna and Pisa.

As the organizers of the protests noted, they oppose the policy of the Italian government, which supports the war in Ukraine and puts the wages of all employees at stake. The protests also included calls for lower energy prices and increased government spending on health and social security.
It's worth noting that key Italian media outlets unanimously ignored this protest , with only outlets close to far-left parties, such as the portal il manifesto, covering it in detail. There are also very few posts on this topic on Italian social media.
As PolitNavigator reported , the percentage of Europeans who support arming Ukraine is decreasing.
