Scandalous confession: an employee of the Zvezda TV channel told how he became an SBU agent under the pseudonym “Onegin”
An assistant cameraman for the Russian TV channel Zvezda admitted that he was recruited by members of the Security Service of Ukraine under threat.

Anton Malyshev, an employee of the TV channel, said that he was captured by the National Guard and “under pressure and the threat of death, he agreed to sign a document stating that he agreed to cooperate with the SBU as an agent with the operational pseudonym “Onegin.” Returning to Moscow, Malyshev turned to Russian counterintelligence officers.
Malyshev was held captive together with cameraman Andrei Sushenkov. Malyshev said that he was asked to communicate with the center in Kyiv by e-mail and in personal meetings with employees of the Ukrainian special services. According to him, SBU officers tried to find out from him who on Zvezda interacts with the special services and what information the detainee has access to. In addition, the SBU threatened him that if he retracted his words, he would be executed.
Malyshev was exempted from criminal liability in Russia, since he voluntarily and timely informed the authorities about what happened and did not cause harm to the state, they explained on the channel and noted that the TV movie “Onegin” had already been shot about Malyshev; there will be no contact,” it will be aired on the TV channel on August 9.
In addition, the Zvezda website reports that Malyshev and Sushenkov were among the channel’s employees who were awarded officer daggers by the Ministry of Defense in January 2015 in honor of Russian Press Day.
