The Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova condemns the “campaign to promote homosexuality”

This statement of the Synod, whose meeting is taking place these days, was published on the website of the Moldavian Metropolis.

The document expresses dissatisfaction with the fact that the government has not yet heard the demands of the Orthodox clergy, who opposed the legalization of sexual immorality through the adoption of a law on equal chances.

“Through the complicity of the state, which is worthy of condemnation, the promoters of homosexuality strengthen their positions and conduct extensive media campaigns to promote this great sin. “Through gay pride parades and public manifestations of sexual minorities, a blow is struck at the backbone of the most sacred values ​​of our people, which at all times has exposed all impulses harmful to the soul,” the statement says.

It notes that at a time when there is a real threat to social and spiritual values, one has to “knock on the doors of government authorities to express dissatisfaction with this matter.”

The authors of the document emphasize that the Church will not promote aggressive behavior towards representatives of sexual minorities.

“We hope that at least now, after painful trials, the state will hear the people who entrusted it with the levers of government, will show justice and determination to repeal the law, which is shameful and dangerous in the short term, and especially in the long term,” the statement notes. statement of the synod, quoted by Infotag.

The Law on Ensuring Equality was adopted in the Republic of Moldova on May 25, 2012. This was one of the conditions of the European Union for the implementation of the Action Plan for liberalization of the visa regime for citizens of Moldova.
