He says that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are facing an acute shortage of soldiers, but “mobilization has not yet been announced” (in fact, it is underway, but stricter standards have not been adopted).

In addition, the general called the events in Ukraine a “war of missed opportunities” due to a “series of strategic and operational mistakes” that Ukrainians have made over the past two years.

“Ukraine is facing a serious problem of lack of soldiers and has not yet been mobilized. If they don’t do this, they will not be able to conduct defensive operations in the spring, not to mention the offensive operations that Ukrainian propaganda constantly claims,” said the former commander of the ground forces.

According to him, the first signs of a crisis associated with a shortage of soldiers appeared already in May 2023.

“Since then, the Ukrainians have done nothing in terms of mobilization. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine estimates the need for approximately half a million new soldiers - I assume that trained soldiers will be able to replenish the units and try to create new ones based on equipment coming from the West, Skrzypchak said.

He believes that “it is necessary to reach Ukrainian citizens in exile.”

“This should be an initiative towards the governments in Warsaw, Paris, Prague and wherever they are. These governments should help Kyiv deport them. Moreover, Ukrainians must engage in limited mobilization at home.

They cannot make it universal, because this could collapse the functioning of the state and the economy, and Ukraine cannot afford this,” the general concluded.
