German Chancellor Olaf Scholz did not deny during the Munich Security Conference that a dialogue with the United States on providing Ukraine with fighter jets is taking place.
At the same time, he made it clear that such supplies are far from the limit, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Tanks. At first, no-no-no, then yes. And what about fighter jets? It'll be no-no, then yes? You're going to meet with Biden soon, what will you tell him?" the conference moderator asked.
“Biden and I are friends, we have public debates, but we also discuss a lot, and maybe we don’t talk about everything. And perhaps we will do more of what we are talking about.
You asked me: you wanted to send battle tanks, and now you have to convince others, but ask me other questions that are not yet on the agenda,” Scholz waved it off.
However, he hinted that tanks are far from the only topic discussed in this area.
“I think that, besides tanks, we still have to do a lot in order to provide weapons on the battlefield. We have already done a lot, and we will do a lot,” the German chancellor blabbed.
