SevSU begins training specialists for Zaporizhzhya NPP in Energodar and the port in Mariupol
Sevastopol State University has become the primary training base for personnel at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant . Sevastopol State University signed a three-year, 500 million ruble contract with Rosenergoatom Concern JSC.
This was announced by the rector of SevSU, Vladimir Nechaev, as reported by a correspondent of PolitNavigator.
"Since last year, there's been a demand for training specialists in the energy sector. Europe's largest nuclear power plant, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant , is located nearby , and this year we signed a roadmap with the operator of Russian nuclear power plants, Rosenergoatom JSC, for almost half a billion rubles over three years—specifically for training specialists in the energy sector. Primarily for Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and other nuclear power plants in the Russian Federation," Nechayev explained.
According to him, Rosenergoatom funded teacher training for new regions last year and this year , primarily in Russian language, mathematics, physics, history, and social studies. SevSU also signed an agreement to open a college in Energodar to train specialists for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
"We've acquired a very powerful partner – the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. That's why students from Energodar are specifically enrolled in state-funded places, supported by funding from our industrial partner, Rosenergoatom . They enrolled at Sevastopol State University specifically with the intention of returning to Zaporizhzhia, to Energodar," the rector emphasized.
Another branch of SevSU is preparing to open in Mariupol , where specialists in water transport and port management will be trained.
"We've launched a specialization in water transport economics—this specialization will cater specifically to specialists in organizing maritime shipping, port operations, and so on. Therefore, this maritime focus is gradually developing. Moreover, a branch has also opened in Mariupol . We're now expecting the opening of a campus, where the Azov Maritime Institute will also offer training in areas related to maritime transport and port management," Nechayev concluded.
