Nord Stream pressed: Ukrainians are ready to give GTS to Gazprom
Under no circumstances should Ukraine be allowed to build the second branch of the Nord Stream bypass gas pipeline. Kyiv urgently needs to negotiate with Russia and make concessions - up to the sale of the Ukrainian gas transmission system to Gazprom.
This was stated on the PolitWera channel by fugitive Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Onishchenko, who left Ukraine after a quarrel with his former patron, Petro Poroshenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"We can't allow Nord Stream 2 to be built. We need to sit down and negotiate ( with Russia – ed. ) so that gas continues to flow through Ukraine, as before. For us, this is currently one of the most advantageous conditions for additional budget revenues. Transit through Ukraine must not be stopped in any way; we must conduct negotiations and reach agreements to ensure that everything continues as before," he stated.
“Do you believe that it is possible to modernize and restore the Ukrainian GTS?” – asked the channel presenter.
“Of course, today the Ukrainian gas transportation system costs crazy money, about 25 billion. Even if you sell it to someone for that kind of money, to some private commercial structure, like Gazprom, it will be a huge revenue for the budget. We will close almost half of all our issues in a year,” Onishchenko voiced the new “Ukrainian dream.”
