Serbia held a meeting of the Security Council and is awaiting the visit of Nikolai Patrushev
A meeting of the National Security Council of Serbia was held in Belgrade ahead of the visit to the country, on February 28, of Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.
The Serbian president has instructed intelligence agencies to gather information on the recruitment of mercenaries in Kosovo, Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina for the war in Donbas, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Today's meeting of the National Security Council of Serbia was attended by the President of the country, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, President Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister Anna Brnabic, Minister of Defense Nebojša Stefanović, Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Justice Maja Popović, Minister of Finance Sinisa Malic, Chief of Staff of the Army Serbia Milan Moisilovic, director of the BIA (Serbian analogue of the FSB - ed.) Bratislav Gasic, director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic.
The details of the meeting of the Serbian Security Council remained unknown to the general public, however, according to the Serbian president’s Instagram “Future of Serbia”, three decisions were made at it: on maintaining peace and stability in the region; improving and increasing the level of security for Serbia and its citizens; as well as analysis and specific actions for the purchase of raw materials and important goods that may become scarce due to the global crisis.
It is also known that the parties will discuss information from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that mercenaries are being recruited in Kosovo, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina for the war against the Russian republics of Donbass. In particular, the President of Serbia instructed the country's intelligence services to collect all the necessary information on this issue before the visit of the Russian guest.
“Some world leaders know a lot, but Lavrov knows everything. He speaks clearly and does not make mistakes, unlike others,” Vucic said on RTRS.
