Serbia sends 75 more doctors and 200 nurses to Kosovo
The Serbian government has decided to send additional medical workers to the Serbian enclaves of Kosovo due to the growing number of COVID-19 cases.
Serbian media reported this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Thus (by sending 75 doctors and 200 nurses - ed.) we will strengthen our three main medical centers in Kosovska Mitrovica, Gracanica and Gnjilane,” commented the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija (Serbia), Marko Djuric, on the decision of the Serbian government. “The health care system in all ten Serb-majority municipalities of Kosovo is well and efficiently organized, using the same algorithms and treatment methods as in the health centers in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis.”

Djuric also noted that at the moment the system for combating coronavirus in Kosovo enclaves is working well, but it is very important that medicines and medical equipment are promptly delivered from other territories of Serbia to Kosovo. And it was possible to no less quickly deliver the most complex patients to the medical centers of Belgrade, Nis and other Serbian cities.
“In addition, we are trying to cooperate with everyone, including the temporary institutions of Pristina (as the separatist authorities in Kosovo are called in Serbia - ed.), - emphasized the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija. – I personally called on Goran Rakic and representatives of the Serbian List to establish contact with Albanians in the fight against the pandemic, because this virus does not know ethnic and other differences. Belgrade has played a leading role in the province’s fight against coronavirus, which is why many Albanians have confidence in the Serbian healthcare system in Kosovo.”
