Senator Morozov: “Russia is losing to Africa”
Russia's trade turnover with Africa fell during the pandemic from 20 to 17 billion dollars, although other countries have increased their export potential.
Senator Igor Morozov announced this today at a meeting of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“To create a Russian industrial zone. We've been talking about it for four years now. They say it is about to be opened. There is absolutely nothing. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is unable to cope with this task. We are losing to Africa,” Morozov said.
Russia does not provide its donations for the development of African states with the purchase of its own goods.
“Our Russian money arrived in Djibouti. They purchased imported food. There is nothing Russian. We have always fought against this and are losing again. Two months ago we handed over a check to the government of Uganda. The UN took over the money. Drugs are coming from Europe again. We cannot give money from the budget to be used by international organizations without indicating our participation,” Morozov said.
