Thus, Vladimir Filimonov, lawyer of the Mosyurtsentr collegium, was detained in the Kiev restaurant “Corona” on the evening of October 3, a few hours after he arrived in the capital of Ukraine to meet with Dushutin, who is on the international wanted list.

At the same time, as Ukrainian lawyer Anton Zhuravel said, Filimonov’s detention “was extremely harsh, for some reason the SBU special forces were used,” and in the detention center the doctor found many abrasions on him.

The very next day, the SBU informed the lawyer of suspicion of a particularly large-scale fraud: he allegedly requested a million dollars to be transferred to the FSB in order to remove Dashutin from the wanted list.

In a similar scenario, Georgy Levitin was detained in the Kiev restaurant “Indigo”, although he was accused of espionage.

They tried to pull off the same scheme in relation to another Russian lawyer, Nikolai Galkin, whom Dashutin invited to important negotiations in Kyiv, where he also asked “to bring money to the FSB and the Prosecutor General’s Office.”

Alexey Dushutin.

According to Galkin, he responded by offering standard legal assistance, saying that he immediately suspected something was wrong and immediately realized that there was a provocation.

“The arrested Russian lawyers do not admit guilt. Their defense calls what is happening a provocation of the SBU, which is thus “stuffing up the exchange fund,” explaining that Ukrainian security forces are arresting Russians, hoping in the future to exchange them for Ukrainians held in prison in Russia. And Alexey Dushutin, according to colleagues of the arrested lawyers, most likely hopes to earn the loyalty of the Kyiv authorities and thus avoid extradition,” the publication notes.

“We consider the accusations against our colleagues to be unfounded and will provide them with all possible legal support,” said the head of the Moscow legal center, Hasan Mirzoev.

As PolitNavigator reported, a Ukrainian human rights activist spoke about the SBU's "exchange fund" and accused Gritsak's agency of kidnapping people.

Furthermore, Ukraine is demanding the arrest of Igor Rulev, head of the Azov-Black Sea territorial administration of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, who participated in a meeting of the Ukrainian-Russian commission on fisheries in the Sea of Azov, which was recently held in Kyiv.
