SBU fabricates anti-Ukrainian conspiracy against Orthodox priests
Ukrainian security forces discovered evidence of an organized criminal network following searches of priests of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
This was stated in a statement by the SBU, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
In particular, we are talking about a network of distribution of materials “inciting ethnic hatred.”
“In recent days, law enforcement officers have conducted a number of searches in individual administrative premises of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and private buildings belonging to representatives of this denomination. As a result of the searches, a lot of printed materials were confiscated, the content of which has signs of inciting religious and interfaith hatred,” the SBU notes.
It is indicated that among the confiscated items are 75 copies of the brochure “UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH: Relations with the state. Attitude to the ATO and the church schism. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS”, which has already come to the attention of the Security Council of Ukraine, and for which there is already a corresponding expert opinion.
“According to the conclusion of the examination of the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Technical and Forensic Expertise, this publication “contains propaganda of religious intolerance ... offends the feelings of citizens ... in connection with their religious beliefs, incites religious interfaith enmity and hatred,” the SBU said in a statement.
Earlier, Archimandrite Alexei, secretary of the Zhytomyr diocese, stated following the search that the SBU, together with the police, were searching for literature that could be classified as extremist.
