The SBU acted under the guise of the FSB to eliminate the Anti-Maidan in Nikolaev
In 2014, SBU officers came to Anti-Maidan activists in Nikolaev under the guise of Russians.
This was stated by the coordinator of the Nikolaev underground, Sergei Lebedev (Telegram channel "Shaggy"), who left his hometown and is now in the DPR, a correspondent for PolitNavigator reports.
He said that the Nikolaev underground was created in 2014 after the dispersal of the tent city of Anti-Maidan supporters.
“The underground began with the guys who were the power bloc of the Anti-Maidan. Before this, people approached us who introduced themselves as “FSB officers.” They convinced us that we must act exclusively peacefully, not use force, not start fights or assaults. They say that our task is to show a beautiful picture, and then everyone will go to the Russian Federation according to the “Crimean scenario” - both Nikolaev and Odessa.
Now it sounds funny, but then we believed them. We listened to them with open ears. They acted exclusively by peaceful methods. But when the Nikolaev Anti-Maidan was dispersed, many began to realize that there would be no miracles. And after what happened on May 2 in Odessa, the last illusions disappeared that problems could be resolved exclusively through peaceful political means, negotiations and conversations. On the other hand, it was already too late to solve something another way,” Lebedev said in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
He calls those who urged people to act peacefully “provocateurs.”
“Moreover, these were not “FSB officers”, but agents of the SBU. They kept surveillance on us, and then a lot of people were arrested based on their tips,” he recalls.
According to him, mass arrests began after the dispersal of the tent city.
“This was already put on the conveyor belt in the summer. Those who openly expressed their opinions ended up in the SBU. We tried to work more secretly. When they organized the protests, they did not announce that we did it. That's why they survived for so long.
There was one person on our team who was a security professional. He previously worked with commercial structures and was involved in anti-raiding. He taught us a lot about conspiracy. But in the end I got caught. You must always leave on time. You have to feel that you have already been targeted and leave so as not to betray anyone. Because if you get interrogated by the SBU, you will tell everything. They know how to split people,” says Lebedev.
He said that this man died in Nikolaev after he was detained.
“His wife also died. They have two children left, they are in Russia. But he also has a mother who remained in Ukraine. Therefore, I cannot name him,” said the coordinator of the underground.
