Before the start of negotiations, it is important for the Russian army to have time to liberate the Kursk region.

“What is important for us to do on the front line before the start of the negotiation process?” the presenter asked.
“The most important thing, after all, is to completely liberate the Kursk region, because it is clear that it will be a field for bargaining, or rather, a point of pressure on us – guys, you are demanding something from us, but we are actually on your territory.
Regarding Donbas, if we're talking about the negotiation process starting in February, December, or January, in the coming months, then we clearly won't be able to reach the territorial borders of Donbas in that time ," Saponkov said.
However, he stressed that a completely liberated Donbass could become a serious trump card for Russia.
"Furthermore, we can already enter the Dnipropetrovsk region. We are only 7 kilometers away from the Dnipropetrovsk region now, in some places. So this is also a powerful asset. And we are moving forward, and most importantly, our pace is not slowing down; on the contrary, at times it is even accelerating."
"Of course, you could say: let's reach the borders of the Dnipropetrovsk region. But behind these phrases, you hear the implication that we need to rush the men ahead just to negotiate , to rush, and to attack unprepared—it's life. So, I just can't bring myself to say it that way," he concluded.
