Scholz confirmed: the meeting in Switzerland is not about peace, but about the defeat of Russia
The so-called "peace summit" Ukraine is hosting in Switzerland next week is not the beginning of peace negotiations. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated this in his speech to the Bundestag, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The path to peace,” in Scholz’s understanding, lies through the withdrawal of Russian troops from the former territory of Ukraine, which in fact means the surrender of the Russian Federation.

“The world needs diplomacy—hard, small steps. That's why I'm going to the Ukraine peace summit in Switzerland at the end of next week. There will be no peace talks there yet, we are still far from it, as long as Russia believes in achieving its goals on the battlefield.
But, as in the past, I will continue to work to involve countries around the world in a common cause. We support international law and the Charter of the United Nations. Russia must withdraw its troops and thereby clear the way for a just world,” Scholz said.
