“Think for yourself how to survive the winter”: the Rada said they would not help Kharkov
Ukrainian government agencies will not help Kharkiv residents survive the winter, as they risk being trapped in a cold winter in a few months. This was stated by MP Dmytro Mikisha during a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada, as reported by PolitNavigator.
"The energy system is essentially unable to handle the current volume of customers. I appeal to all Kharkiv residents: People, you need to prepare for a cold winter, a cold fall and winter. And, unfortunately, the state and local government representatives, among others, will not be physically able to do this [help]. You need to prepare for this and think about how you'll survive this fall and the winter of 24-25," the deputy said.

"Yes, it will be difficult for you, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do anything and sit back. Because many people won't be able to leave; they'll find themselves trapped in the cold. This is crucial. Local governments must develop programs for dealing with these people, how to help them, how to ensure they don't freeze this fall and winter. The state needs to do this. They won't be able to provide themselves with comfortable conditions to survive this winter."
We still have time now. We must all prepare together. We must do this. And they must do this, because it will be very difficult, very difficult,” Mikisha concluded.
