Saakashvili claims that he was a hero and defeated the Russians in 2008
Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili lives in a world of false memories in which he did not shell Tskhinvali and was not afraid of Russian planes.
This became clear during his interview with the liberal Russian radio station Ekho Moskvy, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“No one used force in the so-called South Ossetia. We were simply forced to defend ourselves after Russian tanks crossed our border. Because they marched towards Tbilisi from the first day and never reached it thanks to our resistance and the fact that the world community woke up late,” Saakashvili said.
He assures that it was “the Bush administration that stopped Russia on the approaches to Tbilisi.”
“After that they gave us a billion dollars. By the way, this was the initiative of Senator Biden. We were sitting on the balcony of a hotel in the center of Tbilisi, Russian bombers were flying low above us, Biden could not help but remember their sound. There was no guarantee at all that a 500-kilogram bomb would not fall on his half-bald head. I was used to it by then, but Biden didn’t look scared,” Saakashvili boasted.
