This statement was made by Mikheil Saakashvili on his Facebook page.
“The fact that the Georgian delegation did not vote for sanctions against Russia and did not support Ukraine is a shame for modern Georgia,” Saakashvili noted.
The Odessa governor believes that he added that this is due to the fact that one of the important private shareholders of Gazprom, Bidzina Ivanishvili, came to the second round of the presidential elections in Georgia.
“I am completely sure that this situation is a shame and a black spot in the history of Georgia and does not reflect the real public opinion of Georgia regarding Ukraine,” he assures.
Let us recall that according to the election results in Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili’s ruling party “Georgian Dream” gained 48,6%, while ex-President Saakashvili’s opposition party “United National Movement” (UNM) gained 27,14%.
