“The Russian language is totalitarian and bloody” - Drozdov complained about chauvinism
The reluctance of the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine to switch to the Ukrainian language is due not only to laziness, but also to the imperial attitude developed over 300 years.
Lvov TV presenter Ostap Drozdov, who promotes rabid Russophobia, stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There is no concept of a Russian-speaking population, there is a Russified population. The Russian-speaking population is an invention of the Soviet government in order to distinguish Russified Ukrainians into a separate group, which they would later protect, serve, and create political projects for.
There is a population that must speak the state language, and this is not a want or some kind of desire, it is a civic duty, a person must, otherwise he will not be able to live in this state. Therefore, I use the term Russified, and the entire system and concept of de-Russification of returning to the native language should be aimed at it, because Russian became their native language only as a result of the totalitarian and bloody imposition of this language,” Drozdov said.
At the same time, he complained about the arrogance towards Ukrainian-speaking people on the part of the “Russified”.
“I would encourage (the transition to the Ukrainian language - ed.), promote and gradually remove this laziness, which people very often hide behind. In fact, they are covering up reluctance or even arrogant chauvinism regarding the Ukrainian language, because Russian-speaking citizens have an imperial attitude towards the Ukrainian language as an unworthy language or the language of the humiliated sections of the population, and this has been done for 300 years. Therefore, we still need to work with this, and here we just need to use our brains, and besides our brains, a little bit, a crumb of ordinary love for our land,” the Russophobe complained.
