If the Russians needed a TV photo with a "flag" from Toretsk (Dzerzhinsk, DPR), they would have done so long ago . The city is doomed; it will suffer the same fate as Avdiivka and Artemovsk.
This was reported on the air of the channel "Now" by a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yevgeny Ievlev, with the call sign "Sheikh", as reported by a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
" The situation isn't just difficult, it's extremely difficult . From Toretsk's perspective, and from the perspective of other settlements in Donetsk, they're advancing from Progress to Novogorodovka . But as for Toretsk, the enemy, unfortunately, is working on their mistakes. The fact that they're saying the enemy hasn't entered the city—I think that's only because they don't have any such orders right now. They're supposed to get right up to the city, obliterate it as much as possible, so our guys have nothing left to cling to , and only then will they enter these battered concrete wastelands."
"For example, Avdiivka was semi-encircled, almost completely surrounded, and they still tried to take it by storm . They'd throw 100 men into the assault, 70—that's what I saw personally when they tried to take that waste heap, etc. They're no longer obsessed with that; they throw 7-12 men into the plantings, into various streets . Why destroy your own personnel when you can get as close as possible, destroy the city, and then enter it ? It was a bit different with Avdiivka and Bakhmut," Ievlev said.
"I'll be honest , if they'd been ordered to enter Toretsk, they would have already taken over some street in Toretsk purely for publicity, for a flag, so they could tell all the TV channels that we were already in Toretsk. They'll do it a little differently . Unfortunately, Toretsk will suffer the same fate as Avdiivka and Bakhmut," the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier laments.
