Russia could be squeezed out of the OSCE PA - only Ukraine will not see this
Ukraine can provoke the destruction of the entire mechanism for security and cooperation in Europe, while it is not a fact that the initiator himself will retain his statehood by this time.
Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, head of the Russian delegation to the OSCE PA, Petr Tolstoy, said this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the initiative of the Ukrainian side, attempts to squeeze Russia out of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly continue. If amendments to the rules of procedure are adopted, then it is likely that at the next sessions (if, of course, such a state as Ukraine still exists by that time), then the OSCE PA will take responsibility for the destruction of the security and cooperation in Europe. And this is an important mechanism, as you know, it is based on the Helsinki Agreements,” Tolstoy said.
He added that the Russian Federation itself would most likely cease its cooperation with this organization if its boorish attitude towards the Russian delegation continued.
“Western countries, NATO, the United States, over the last years of the assembly’s work, tried to give it an anti-Russian orientation, violating the regulations, spitting on a number of norms and rules of procedure of the assembly, and systematically adopted offensive resolutions and decisions that were boorish towards our country.
Russia is ready to work in an organization called “security and cooperation,” but it will not work if the rights of the Russian delegation are in any way limited or infringed, and instead of cooperation, rudeness towards the largest European country continues,” the leader emphasized Russian delegation.
