Russia expects to “outsit” the West in Ukraine.
Political scientist Fyodor Lukyanov stated this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The Russian strategy, if I understand it correctly, proceeds from the fact that under any conservative scenarios, the Russian resource is greater than what can be given to Ukraine. And so, in the end, ours will take it.
From a distance, it's true. And if you look at more specific things, then you need to count in each specific direction. So far there is no feeling that Russia is anywhere close to overvoltage, although there is no reason to throw hats. It is clear that sanctions have an impact. But there is a basis for this expectation that we will wait too long and they will break faster,” Lukyanov said.
