Ukrainian oligarchs aren't shy about making money in Russia and using it to fund their TV channels with anti-Russian rhetoric. Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the First Independent TV channel, as reported by PolitNavigator.
The expert recalled the recent words of the Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak, who explained how funds from oligarchs from Ukraine provide assistance to Donbass.
“The state of Ukraine itself, which since 2018 has somehow designated Russia as an “aggressor” by law, pays us money. Citizens close to power, including still Poroshenko and his groups with a certain Mr. Granovsky, Yatsenyuk, Pinchuk, Firtash, Akhmetov, Kolomoisky - all pay for products that are produced in Russia... We openly say: with the same money we provide humanitarian support to Donbass ", Kozak said.
Pogrebinsky emphasized that this does not prevent the oligarchs from branding Russia and the Donbass republics through controlled media:
“For some reason, no one reacts to this in Ukraine. Well, they asked Akhmetov: “How do you still get something from Russia, do you pay them for it?” They don’t ask him such a question, they don’t ask Kolomoisky. But Kozak cannot make things up - since he said it, apparently this is how it is.
This simply completely nullifies the argument of the National Security and Defense Council, President Zelensky, and the Prosecutor General’s Office that Medvedchuk is exclusively guilty, even to the point of betraying national interests. And these guys, who are many times larger, are nothing...
I want to know, Pinchuk, are you still making money? Do you watch your television, which shows what kind of bastards live in the northeast? Are you satisfied with receiving money from such aggressors?” – Pogrebinsky said.
