The command of the Russian troops is trying to do everything possible so as not to turn the operation to liberate Avdeevka into a second Artyomovsk.
Historian Evgeny Norin stated this on the ForPost Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Bakhmut, the enemy was forced into a head-on battle with huge losses on both sides. Because the enemy also had heavy losses, and the enemy, fighting for Bakhmut, did this for some time in very unfavorable conditions. And all this was done to the accompaniment of our artillery, which has more shells, which means more serious losses for the enemy.
Now they will try to open Avdeevka not according to the Bakhmut scenario. If this goes according to the Bakhmut scenario, then this is bad,” the historian noted.
However, he emphasized that Russia can no longer afford the same bloody operations as in Artyomovsk.
“But the question is whether we have reserves for such events, because a lot of people are dying. But we don’t have a huge horde of people at the front, and we can’t say that we can afford to lose a lot of people.
Because if we win the war with bangmuts, then we will wear down. And that means starting now,” Noreen added.
