Russia: Kolomoisky will suffer from Yatsenyuk’s sanctions against Aeroflot
The Russian authorities may apply retaliatory sanctions if Kyiv bans flights of Russian airlines to Ukraine.

This was stated by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov, RIA Novosti reports.
“Today we learned from the media about the intention of the government of A. Yatsenyuk to ban flights of Aeroflot and Transaero airlines on the territory of Ukraine. If these intentions are implemented in real documents of the Ukrainian aviation authorities, which will close the airspace for Russian companies, then the Russian authorities will be forced to take mirror measures,” Sokolov said.
He believes that the citizens of Ukraine will primarily suffer from the ban on air travel.
“We understand that this will actually lead to a halt in air traffic between countries. And first of all, the citizens of Ukraine will suffer from this. But I would like to emphasize that in the current situation, the Russian side is being forced to take this step by the actions of the Ukrainian authorities,” Sokolov said.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers voted in favor of Yatsenyuk's proposal to ban flights to Ukraine, including transit flights, by Russian airlines Aeroflot and Transaero starting October 25.
As you know, the Ukrainian passenger air transportation market is almost completely monopolized by Igor Kolomoisky’s airlines, the largest of which is UIA.
