Russia has nothing to oppose ideologically to the population of the returned territories, who still have Ukronazism textbooks and manuals in their minds. Historical parallels are forgotten and not popularized, and officials do not know how to work on social networks.

Alexander Malkevich, co-chairman of the coordinating council for the integration of new regions of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, announced this on Radio Crimea, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Their teaching aids are visible. All these textbooks, books - I leafed through them all and come up with the unpopular point of view that we need our own strong ideological educational literature. We need to stop being shy about this word, these terms – like propaganda. In this regard, I was very pleasantly shocked by my colleagues from the Institute of Mass Media of the Crimean Federal University. Vernadsky, because it’s been a long time since I’ve heard such reasonable and correct words that it’s time to give up this embarrassment. They say that journalism is something lofty and romantic, and propaganda is something base and dirty. Nothing like that,” he emphasized.

“We must be able to promote our achievements, as, for example, the exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh in Moscow is doing right now, in our days. Everything is convenient there: here, the Crimea pavilion, Sevastopol, you turn the corner - four new regions. And it’s bright, it’s a pleasant shock from how many amazing things there are in our country. And we are not talking about past achievements, not about cultural and architectural monuments, but about how our country lives now, how much has been created by people’s labor. And this needs to be propagated, this needs to be promoted,” the expert continued.

As the special representative of the governor of St. Petersburg in the new Russian regions, Malkevich intends to popularize the historical parallels between the “northern capital” and the returned territories.

“Look, right away on the surface: St. Petersburg and Mariupol are twin cities. But even few residents of the Donetsk People's Republic know why Mariupol was called Zhdanov. That is, they remember that for many years there was a city of Zhdanov. And he was there because Andrei Aleksandrovich Zhdanov, the leader of Leningrad during the siege, was born there. The figure of Zhdanov is complex and ambiguous, and not all of his actions, to put it mildly, were positive. But he is involved in the feat of my hometown. The city survived, and Zhdanov led it all these years. And he didn’t run away anywhere, he was there with the people. Therefore, it would be fair to somehow immortalize his memory in the city,” said the representative of the OP.

He gave another example: in the St. Petersburg park “Ekateringof” there is a monument to the Young Guards, the same as the monument erected in the city of Krasnodon, Lugansk People’s Republic.

“And this completely random spiritual twinning that has developed can and should be developed. I would like to see a museum of the Northern Military District appear in St. Petersburg, maybe on the basis of a school, maybe in a separate way. Because there should be more such cultural and educational projects in order for Russian megacities to discover our returned regions and their history,” Malkevich noted.

One of the initiatives concerns the creation of an educational center for opinion leaders and journalists in new regions. Since local government bodies are now being formed in new regions, it is necessary to conduct training for deputies and officials in the competent use of social networks and communication with the media.
As an example, Malkevich cited the decree of the head on the dismissal of Oleg Morgun from the post of head of Mariupol, who managed to make a splash before the second decree was issued on his appointment as acting. chapters. According to the new regulations, the head of the Mariupol administration will be appointed by deputies, so it was necessary to follow the procedure. But the Ukrainian media took advantage of the news feed and interpreted the resignation in the way they needed, because there was no official comment on this matter.

“That’s why they need platforms, they need training, they need courses. Unfortunately, now the information situation is such that you can’t relax for a second,” concluded Malkevich.
