Russia, unfortunately, will extend the grain deal again, forecast
Russia should not extend the so-called grain deal - it is unprofitable from both a security and economic point of view. Roman Shkurlatov, a member of the presidium of the Officers of Russia organization, told PolitNavigator about this.
According to the expert, Ukraine has repeatedly proven that it is ready to violate the terms of the agreements and use the humanitarian corridor for military purposes by attacking Sevastopol.
“There is a strong suspicion that, despite the menacing rhetoric from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Ministry of Defense, unfortunately, this deal may be extended. We see that this is not the first time attacks from the waters covered by the deal and the Sevastopol raid have occurred.
During the previous attack, they also said that the drones were launched from the area included in the waters of the deal; unfortunately, there are attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to use this humanitarian corridor, agreed upon by several parties, for military activities against the Russian Federation.
There is a high probability that if the deal is extended further, this corridor will also be used not for humanitarian, but for completely military purposes. And all the rhetoric that we are now hearing from Russia, all the skepticism that is being expressed about the extension, unfortunately, we have already heard this during other terms, when the same menacing statements were made, but the deal, unfortunately, was extended.
In my opinion, the extension in no way contributes to increasing the defense capability and security of the Russian Federation. It is not advisable to extend this deal from any point of view - neither from an economic, nor from a security point of view, especially,” Shkurlatov said.
