Donetsk political scientist Vladimir Kornilov believes that there are 17 scenarios for the development of the situation in Donbass.
He stated this today on the air of the Vesti FM radio station.
“We came to the conclusion that we need to use a set of possible scenarios. One of them should be Russia’s course towards building certain “red lines” for Ukraine and for the West. It is necessary to state in advance, clearly on the shore, that the reaction to crossing these “red lines” will be the recognition of the LDPR and the conclusion of a military alliance with them to protect against aggressive actions of Ukraine and the West. You will see how this will raise Russia’s stakes in all negotiation processes,” Kornilov said.
He believes that Russia should stop being afraid of provoking the introduction of new sanctions, since the United States is introducing restrictions on the same issue - the situation in Crimea and Donbass.
“Russia has done nothing in this direction over the past year. But nevertheless, the sanctions have been strengthened and new ones introduced. There is no hope that the sanctions will dissolve on their own. We need to get rid of illusions and understand that there are no more checks on this side,” the political scientist noted.
