The Russian military-industrial complex is increasing its production capacity several times in order to have time to prepare the army for a possible military confrontation with NATO.
Military analyst Alexander Artamonov said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“While in the Urals, Mishustin ordered an increase in ammunition production seven to eight times. This shows that we are preparing for large-scale military action, and clearly not against the army we already face, which has seven thousand shells a day, when we have from twenty to forty thousand.
The calibers of cartridge factories are being uncovered. Before wartime, we produced up to six billion rounds of ammunition, and now the task is to increase it. And we are just ramping up capacity; currently they are only 20-30% loaded at cartridge factories,” Artamonov said.
He also recalled that Russia is actively recreating large military formations that were once disbanded.
“We obviously prepared a scenario for a clash with NATO, because four years ago we recreated a tank strike army in the northwestern direction, in the Baltic region. That is, we are preparing for war in various theaters of military operations. You don’t create an army just like that, it’s expensive, it didn’t exist for seventy years.
We have just decided to revive the Moscow and Leningrad military districts, they have not existed since 2010. This says that we understand that we are faced with NATO, and this will only develop,” the expert added.
