Sevastopol, August 25 (Navigator, Alexander Kononov) – Acting Governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo admitted that he still uses the phone of a Ukrainian cellular operator, and yesterday he received congratulations on the Independence Day of Ukraine.
“Yesterday I received a congratulation on Ukraine’s Independence Day on my phone with a Ukrainian number,” the official said at a briefing.

Menyailo commented on yesterday’s detention of participants in a rally on the occasion of the Ukrainian holiday, who held a rally near the pedestal of the dismantled monument to Hetman Sagaidachny.
According to him, the picketers will be tried under the article “Unauthorized holding of mass events.”
“According to our data, no one applied to hold any mass events. Especially for the celebration of Ukraine Day in Sevastopol. The fact that someone tried to hold it in Balaklava or somewhere else is all unauthorized, and they are responsible in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation. The police reported to me. Two or three people were detained. Protocols have been drawn up on them. If there is something criminally punishable in their actions, then a procedural decision will be made. And these, naturally, were Sevastopol residents. “What did you think,” said Menyailo.
