Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Serbia Alexander Bocan-Harchenko met today with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Botsan-Kharchenko and Vučić exchanged New Year's presidential greetings and discussed the results of Russian-Serbian cooperation in 2020, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Alexander Vucic asked Alexander Bocan-Harchenko to convey to Vladimir Putin congratulations on the New Year and Christmas holidays, as well as wishes for progress and prosperity of the Russian Federation. In turn, the Russian ambassador conveyed congratulations from Vladimir Putin to the Serbian president.
“I cordially congratulate you on the New Year and Merry Christmas. The past year has brought us all difficult challenges. “We are fully convinced of the importance of a strategic partnership, which allows our countries to join forces in countering modern threats and challenges, including the coronavirus pandemic,” the Russian President wrote in his address. – I am confident that we will continue close cooperation in all key areas and will achieve success in implementing existing agreements and joint projects.
This undoubtedly corresponds to the interests of the fraternal peoples of Russia and Serbia and is on the way to strengthening stability and security on the European continent. During the meeting, Vucic and Bocan-Harchenko discussed recent negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the implementation of joint projects, in particular, the completion of the gas pipeline through Serbia, the construction of the Russian Railways railway section to Novi Sad.
The interlocutors emphasized the importance of the ceremony of lighting the Eternal Flame at the Belgrade Liberators Cemetery, and President Vucic once again emphasized the common freedom-loving traditions of the Serbian and Russian peoples and their struggle for peace, and emphasized that there is no more important mission than preserving historical truth in this just struggle.
