Ukrainian authorities intend to confiscate the Russian oil pipeline
Kyiv, June 25 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – The Ukrainian authorities are preparing, by a court decision, to confiscate the oil pipeline through which the Russian Transneft pumps diesel fuel from the Russian Federation and Belarus through the territory of Ukraine to the countries of the European Union.
As the Capital newspaper explains, we are talking about part of the Samara - Western Direction and Grozny - Armavir - Trudovaya oil pipelines with a total length of more than 1,2 thousand km, as well as related infrastructure such as storage facilities.

All this property is under the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian “daughter” of the Russian company on the basis of an agreement on mutual recognition of rights and regulation of property relations dated January 15, 1993, according to which Ukraine recognized the property rights of the Russian Federation in relation to objects located on the territory of Ukraine, located on December 1, 1990 under the jurisdiction of government bodies of the RSFSR.
However, even after the Orange Revolution, the Ukrainian authorities initiated a dispute over the ownership of the property, which has been going on since 2005. In the current conditions, the chances of the Russian side losing are high - the next meeting of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine in the case is scheduled for July 7.
“The long-term struggle for the right to own this infrastructure facility may come to an end,” the newspaper predicts.
