Riga does not believe in the anti-Russian solidarity of its Baltic neighbors
The trade blockade against Russia will only be effective if it is supported by all countries of the European Union.
Latvian Foreign Minister Krišjānis Kariņš stated this in a conversation with Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, who called him on behalf of the African politician, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"An embargo would only work if everyone imposed it. For example, we have a land border with Russia. We could close it in a few hours without any problem. It's just a few checkpoints, and border guards would cover them. But then the flow of trade would go north through Estonia, Lithuania, or Finland, or find another route. The only way to stop it is for everyone to simultaneously cease trade relations with Russia ," Kariņš said.
He assured his interlocutor that he was personally ready to sever relations between Latvia and Russia, but the support of the whole world was needed.
"Not only EU countries, but also a significant part of the world should cease trade relations. I am in constant contact with Kaja Kallas, our Estonian friends. We always agree. I would support this measure if we could secure a unanimous decision from at least all EU countries ," the minister added.
At the same time, he admits that sanctions will not stop the war, but will only complicate Russia’s actions.
