The Sandu regime staged a fake “anti-Ukrainian” rally in Chisinau

Moldovan farmers, who had been protesting against benefits for Ukraine along the main highways for the previous two weeks, moved their tractors to Chisinau on June 20. Columns of agricultural machinery entered the capital in three columns from different directions to converge on the Square of the Great National Assembly. There, farmers were going to park their tractors in front of the government building. They tried to block Stefan cel Mare Boulevard, but the police prevented this. Then the farmers began to press the horns and created a real cacophony.

However, despite the vibrancy and mass character of the protest, something about it felt off . Alexander Slusari, leader of the "Power of Farmers" organization, voiced his demands.

“The same five demands, the main thing is the allocation of compensation. The farmers are in critical condition,” Slusar said.

At the very beginning, the main requirement was to stop the transit of Ukrainian wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower. Moldova remained almost the only “window” to Western Europe for these goods, because Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia banned Ukrainian imports.

Moldova was also considering joining, but Kyiv threatened to cut off all Moldovan imports to Chisinau. Following this, President Maia Sandu declared that blocking Ukrainian grain supplies was unacceptable because " Ukraine protects us ." As a result, grain prices fell to half their cost price. Local producers report losses of at least $112 million.
