Real inflation in Ukraine is more than 25%

Although Goskomstat claims inflation of 12-14%, the real inflation in the country is much higher.

The head of the Committee of Economists, Andriy Novak, announced this at a press conference in Kiev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“You know that official inflation for 2017 is 12%. But even official statistics say that transport generated by 15%, energy and housing and communal services - by 27%, alcohol and tobacco group - by 27%, medicines - 32%, dairy group - by 33%, borscht set - by 35%. How, with prices for major goods and services rising by more than 20%, did Goskomstat reach an average inflation rate of 14%? It is obvious that real inflation for 2017 is much more than 25%,” he said.
