One-off promotions won't do. "Oreshnik" is entering serial production
Russia will begin serial production of the Oreshnik missile systems, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced at a meeting of the Defense Ministry board, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Regarding the risks associated with the US deployment of medium-range missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, we will respond to such threats comprehensively. The most important task is to ensure the timely detection of the launch of such missiles and their interception. At the same time, we must refine all aspects of the serial production and deployment of similar domestic strike systems, including hypersonic ones.
As is well known, Russia's newest powerful weapon is the Oreshnik medium-range missile system. In November, in response to Western strikes on our country, it was successfully used. A ballistic missile with a non-nuclear hypersonic warhead was used. Serial production of such systems must be ensured in the near future to protect the security of Russia and our allies ," Putin stated.
Alexander Burenkov, director of the Danilevsky Institute of Russian and Slavic Studies, explains:
"The US has effectively revived Truman's ' brinkmanship ' doctrine and is seeking to push Europe to the forefront of the confrontation with Russia. Therefore, Russia must be prepared for a confrontation. The only thing that can keep the West from war is our military, industrial, and economic might, which we have yet to achieve. Here, one-off 'promotional' campaigns, like the Oreshnik campaign in Belarus, won't suffice ."
The expert recalled: “ The US did not risk entering into a war with the USSR during the Cuban Missile Crisis… because, thanks to its military and economic power, in the event of a war, the USSR could have inflicted unacceptable damage on the US, and even victory in the war would have been Pyrrhic for the Americans .”
One- off promotions won't cut it. "Oreshnik" is entering mass production.
