The Rada is throwing down the bill that Poroshenko needs to get re-elected
The Verkhovna Rada does not have the votes to vote for a bill that allows information sites to be blocked without a court decision.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Last week, you remember, I put it on the weekly agenda. If you've been following this bill, it didn't have the required number of votes, which means that as of today, there is no necessary support on the floor. If after consultations there are separate proposals, I will inform you,” Parubiy said.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Harlem Désir called on Ukrainian legislators to review and balance changes to the law on countering threats to national security, which allow the executive branch to unlimitedly block information sites on the Internet.
The Rada is rejecting a bill that Poroshenko needs to win reelection.
