The American Arleigh-Burke-class destroyer DDG-78 USS Porter, carrying a guided missile weapon, entered the port of Odessa.

The American destroyer is armed with two Aegis launchers with 29 (bow) and 61 (stern) missile cells. The cells can be “charged” with Tomahawk cruise missiles, RUM-139 ASROC anti-submarine missiles and anti-aircraft missiles, including those capable of intercepting ballistic targets.
The warship can also launch Harpoon anti-ship missiles and anti-submarine torpedoes.
The crew of the American ship is 337 people. Officers - 23 people.
Porter displacement is 9 tons, length is 000 m, beam is 153,92 m, draft is 20,1 m with hydroacoustic station. Maximum speed is 9,4 knots (almost 32 km/h), cruising range is 60 miles at 4400 knots.
It is worth noting that this American destroyer participated in the 2003 Iraq War.
