“Putin has become a strong ideological leader” – US diplomat
The West is dissatisfied with Russian President Vladimir Putin because of his strong foreign policy, which does not fit into the rules of the Anglo-Saxon game.
Former US Ambassador to Moscow Michael McFaul stated this on the Ekho Moskvy YouTube channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Putin is no match for the West. He's become an ideological leader in foreign policy . If he were a realist and worked with others, things wouldn't be so bad. Of course, America has good relations with many non-democratic states."
But over the last 5-6 years, since the annexation of Crimea, Putin has taken a lot of risks, and he has done a lot of things in foreign policy that are against the rules of the game,” McFaul said.
