Putin about Ukraine and gas: no transit - no gas supply
At a forum in Beijing, Russian President Vladimir Putin touched upon, among other things, the issue of gas transit through Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“And then questions of an economic nature. In the end, will we sign a transit agreement for gas transit or not? Do you understand what the question is? Here I would rather have a separate discussion with you about this, but okay, there’s no secret here. After all, Ukraine receives gas twice as expensive as it could otherwise receive. Do you understand that over these years, heat tariffs in the country have increased by 1400 percent? Electricity there, in my opinion, is 1000 percent. The real standard of living is falling, falling catastrophically. But how can this be ignored, or what? Can we spit on this?” he said.

According to Putin, there is no gas reversal in Ukraine, it is only on paper. Therefore, he called on Kyiv to stop engaging in what he called “political tricks.”
“If there is no transit of gas from Russia through Ukraine, then there will be no gas supply to Ukraine,” Putin said.
