Pushkov: “European policy is beginning to bypass Ukraine”
Ukraine is no longer of particular interest to Western bloc countries and is relegated to the background of international politics.
Chairman of the temporary commission of the Federation Council on information policy and interaction with the media, Alexey Pushkov, writes about this in his Telegram channel.
"As of October 1.10, Russian gas has been flowing to Hungary bypassing Ukraine. Gradually, not only gas but also European policy is beginning to bypass Ukraine. This is natural. In today's world, a minor regional issue cannot remain the center of attention for long. People are tired of Ukraine. Zelensky, who is rushing around the world seeking support, is unable to fix this," the senator believes.
According to him, the confrontation with China is much more important for the United States than with Russia.
“For Europe, it has its own problems, plus refugees and Covid. For Turkey – the Near and Middle East. Support from these countries for the so-called integrity of Ukraine has turned into a political ritual. But, just like at a funeral, words are not followed by actions. After the ritual, everyone disperses and goes about their own business. Ukraine is slowly but surely fading into the background of world politics. For now - on the second,” Pushkov comes to the conclusion.
