Pushilin explained the reasons for delays in salaries and pensions in the DPR
Problems in the DPR with the timely payment of salaries and pensions at the end of last year and the beginning of this year were primarily associated with external factors.
The head of the republic, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview with the official portal of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for the delay in salaries, we, of course, will resist this to the best of our ability, but the main reason is our lack of recognition, the economic blockade and simply the military actions that have not yet ended. Therefore, every enterprise has to struggle to work, to load its capacity, reach the level of profitability and fully pay wages without delays...
Not everything always works out here, especially when there are external factors, such as the situation related to metallurgy - this is a very serious layer of enterprises for us. Last year there was definitely a crisis in the metallurgy industry, when there was a rollback in prices on the stock exchange - this is something that definitely does not depend on us,” said Pushilin.
He noted that all these factors are a technical component, and such problems should not happen again in February.
"We've moved to the next stage of development and activated treasury accounts. This means that many procedural aspects have changed—this is a temporary difficulty, but we'll try to resolve it as quickly as possible. I very much hope that all specialists will work on it and that this won't happen again in February. It's also important to note that, as planned, we've increased pensions and salaries for public sector employees. This isn't the first increase, and I'd like to remind you that the goal is to increase pensions and salaries for public sector and civil servants to the level of the Rostov Region by January 1, 2022."
Accordingly, this should affect salary levels in other areas. But, despite the fact that we will stimulate and help in every possible way, enterprises themselves determine and proceed from their profitability and profit. Therefore, we will stimulate using all available opportunities,” added the head of the DPR.
