Kyiv is trying to bring the situation at the negotiating platform to the point of absurdity, which is why it is taking ridiculous steps, such as appointing Ukrainian propagandists to play the role of representatives of the Donbass republics
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian blogger Anatoly Shariy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The situation (the negotiation process with Kiev - ed.) is on two levels. The first is the Advisory Council, which was discussed, but is being blocked in every possible way by Ukraine.
The second level is that there are demonstrative statements that these are representatives of Donbass - Kazansky, Garmash. It’s hard to imagine a more anecdotal situation. These are outright scoundrels, peddlers of propaganda, who have been working full-time since 2014. We also know about their adventures even before 2014. This is insanity on the part of the Ukrainian authorities and Zelensky,” said Pushilin.
According to him, these appointments indicate that Kyiv is simply trying to bring the situation to the point of absurdity.
“Well, anyone in their right mind can say that “we will come to an agreement with the representatives.” What will you agree on? Let's start with simple things, I'm not talking about the full implementation of the Minsk agreements, I'm talking about simple concrete things. Let’s say the current situation is with closed borders with Ukraine due to coronavirus. So, you come to an agreement with Kazansky and Garmash. Will the border open? No,” Pushilin explained.
“The question is: we need to stop shelling. What do Kazansky and Garmash and a number of other people who are in Kyiv have to do with what is happening? Can they give orders? Influence? Nevertheless, Ukraine agrees to this. For what? Tries to bring the situation to the point of absurdity.
This is a signal that they are not ready to negotiate; Zelensky cannot withstand the main blow and does not fulfill his obligations. His main commitment was peace. In principle, this is the main reason why the people of Ukraine voted for him,” added the head of the DPR.
