There will be no food shortage in the DPR - Pushilin
Despite the fact that some residents of Donbass perceive the coronavirus pandemic with anxiety, the situation in the DPR is calm, because people who have lived in war for six years are mentally prepared for crisis situations.
The head of the republic, Denis Pushilin, announced this in an interview published on the official website of the head of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Of course, someone perceives this situation (the coronavirus pandemic in the world - editor's note) with an increased sense of anxiety, but in general the situation in the Republic can be described as calm. And here a big role was played by the fact that our people are already psychologically prepared for various kinds of emergency situations,” he said.
Denis Pushilin emphasized that there is no shortage of food and essential goods in the Republic, and there is no need to fear an increase in prices, because the leadership of the DPR carefully regulates this issue.
“As for food. The shelves of our stores have everything you need, you can verify this by going to any supermarket or visiting any local market. There are no massive queues, food shortages or increased excitement at the moment.
Yes, people are more active than usual in purchasing non-perishable goods, for example, the same cereals. Unfortunately, this served as a reason for some unscrupulous sellers to raise prices for these products. We will strictly suppress such attempts to make extra money from the current situation. In particular, a hotline of the Ministry of Revenue and Duties has been created, which residents of the DPR can call if they see an unreasonable increase in prices in stores or pharmacies. After this, appropriate measures will be taken against violators.
We have introduced a high-alert regime, it is not as strict as in many other states, and we did not resort to stopping the work of enterprises, we only recommended that everyone who could be transferred to a remote work mode.
There are only restrictions on the operation of a number of entertainment, sports and cultural institutions, designed to minimize risks in crowded places. Both citizens and entrepreneurs treat this measure with full understanding,” the head of state concluded.
