Representatives of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic express concern about the increasing frequency of incidents in the Security Zone and other facts indicating military preparations in Chisinau.
Oleg Belyakov, co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Transnistria, expressed concern over the appearance of a light aircraft in the skies over the city of Bender , which suffered in 1992 from a punitive operation initiated by Moldovan President Snegur.
According to Belyakov, the parties notify each other of such flights over the Security Zone and their purposes in accordance with the 35th Protocol of the Joint Control Commission , approved by all parties.
“All parties must immediately notify of aircraft overflights, their direction, and purpose. We are now establishing the data associated with these flights. Naturally, we are going to raise this issue within the JCC to clarify the circumstances,” noted Oleg Belyakov.
The JCC co-chair also expressed concern about the increase in military equipment at the Moldovan Bulboaca training ground, 12 kilometers from the border with Transnistria . However, he stated that the Moldovan side has not received any information about this weaponry. The Transnistrian side receives all information exclusively from open sources and social media.
“This is wrong because there is an element of military danger here. And we must constantly not forget about this within the peacekeeping operation,” he said.
